3 aspects to consider when using water-based polyurethane adhesive for automotive interior adhesive

The main reason for switching from solvent-based polyurethane adhesive to water-based polyurethane adhesive in automotive interior adhesive is due to environmental and health considerations. Traditional solvent-based polyurethane adhesives contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can have negative effects on the environment and human health. Water-based polyurethane adhesive can effectively reduce indoor air pollution, protecting human health. In addition, water-based polyurethane adhesive have advantages such as ease of use, fast drying, and high bonding strength, making them increasingly favored in the application of automotive interior trim.

  1. Difference in shelf life: Solvent-based polyurethane adhesives are often judged based on changes in viscosity to determine their shelf life, while water-based polyurethane adhesive for automotive interior adhesive cannot be determined based on viscosity changes and generally have a shelf life of 4 to 6 hours.
  2. Storage conditions: The optimal storage conditions for water-based polyurethane adhesive forautomotive interior adhesive are between 5 to 30°C. It is important to prevent freezing to avoid damaging the adhesive.
  3.
